Bloc Drop: privacy & terms
This page covers the iPhone game Bloc Drop, made by North Adapt LTD (“North Adapt”, “we”, “us”). Our website and company are covered by our main privacy notice and terms.
Privacy notice
The short version
- Bloc Drop doesn’t need an account and doesn’t ask for your name, email or other personal details.
- Your progress and settings are kept on your iPhone and, if iCloud is turned on, in your own iCloud account. North Adapt can’t see or access them.
- Bloc Drop is free and shows ads. Our advertising partners collect some data from your device to show and measure ads. Ads are only personalised if you allow tracking when iOS asks you. If you buy No Ads (£4.99), ads stop and our advertising partners no longer receive data from your device.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
What data is involved
| Data | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress and settings | Your iPhone, and your private iCloud account if iCloud is on. Not North Adapt. | To save your progress and let it follow you to a new iPhone |
| Purchase records | Apple, which processes the payment. The game checks your purchases on your iPhone. | To give you what you bought and restore it on another device |
| Advertising data: device and app information, approximate location from your IP address, and how you interact with ads. Your device’s advertising identifier only if you allow tracking. | Collected directly by our advertising partners, who act as separate controllers. Not collected once you have bought No Ads. | To show ads, measure them and prevent ad fraud |
| Crash reports and diagnostics | Apple, which shares them with us only if you have turned on “Share with App Developers” in iOS Settings. They don’t identify you. | To find and fix bugs |
Apart from crash reports, North Adapt doesn’t receive personal data from Bloc Drop. Advertising data goes to our advertising partners, not to us.
Ads and tracking
- You choose whether ads are personalised. The first time you play, iOS asks whether Bloc Drop may track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, your advertising identifier isn’t shared and ads aren’t personalised. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Ads still appear if you don’t allow tracking. They are chosen using general information, such as the game and your approximate location, rather than a profile of you.
- Our advertising partners handle this data under their own privacy policies, as separate controllers. The lawful basis is your consent for personalised ads, and their legitimate interests for non-personalised ads and fraud prevention.
- Ads are filtered to suit Bloc Drop’s age rating.
- Offline Pass ads are optional. You choose whether to watch them. They are shown by the same advertising partners and use the same data as other ads in Bloc Drop.
- Remove ads completely by buying No Ads (£4.99) in the game. After that, no ads are shown and our advertising partners no longer receive data from your device.
Children
Bloc Drop is designed to be suitable for players of all ages. We follow the ICO’s Age Appropriate Design Code: high privacy settings by default and no nudges to share more data. Ads are non-personalised unless tracking is allowed in Apple’s prompt, and we don’t use personalised ads for players we know to be children.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your progress: delete Bloc Drop from your iPhone, then remove its data in Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
- Stop personalised ads: turn off tracking for Bloc Drop in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Stop ads altogether: buy No Ads in the game.
- Advertising data: because our advertising partners hold it, requests to see or delete it go to them. Contact us and we will help you reach the right partner.
You also have rights under UK data protection law, described in our main privacy notice, including the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Terms of use
Your licence
Bloc Drop is available only through Apple’s App Store for iPhone. When you download it, you get a licence to use it for your own personal, non-commercial use. You don’t own the game itself. Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies. Where it conflicts with these terms, these terms apply to the extent the law allows. Please don’t copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer Bloc Drop, except where the law allows it.
Your progress
Your progress is saved on your iPhone and in your iCloud account, not by North Adapt. If iCloud is turned off, progress is saved on that iPhone only and can be lost if you delete the game or lose the device. We can’t see, restore or transfer saves for you.
Purchases and virtual items
Bloc Drop offers optional in-app purchases. No Ads is a one-off purchase of £4.99 in the UK (the App Store shows the price in your country). It removes ads and lets you play offline, and you can restore it on your other iPhones with Restore Purchases. Apple processes every payment, and refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Virtual items and in-game currency have no value outside the game, can’t be exchanged for real money and can’t be transferred to another player. We may rebalance items as the game changes, but we won’t remove something you paid for without a fair replacement or refund.
Ads
Bloc Drop is free to download and shows ads supplied by third-party advertising networks, unless you have bought No Ads. We aren’t responsible for the content of the websites or apps that ads link to. See Ads and tracking for how ads use data.
Internet connection
The free version of Bloc Drop needs an internet connection to play, because it loads ads. You can play offline with an Offline Pass or if you buy No Ads. Your mobile network may charge for data used while playing.
Offline Pass
- Watch 3 ads in Bloc Drop all the way to the end to earn an Offline Pass. Ads you skip, close early or that don’t finish loading don’t count.
- An Offline Pass lets you play offline for 48 hours from the moment you earn it.
- You can earn another pass whenever you’re online. Watching ads for a pass is always optional.
- The pass is free and has no cash value. We may change how many ads a pass needs or how long it lasts, but we won’t shorten a pass you have already earned.
- We may end a pass early if your iPhone’s clock has been changed to make it last longer.
Your consumer rights
If you live in the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you legal rights. Digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it isn’t, you may be entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
Our liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. If faulty digital content we supplied damages your device or other digital content, and we failed to use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. We are not liable for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your home country.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when Bloc Drop changes in a way that affects your data or these terms, and show the new date at the top. For questions, email privacy@northadapt.com about privacy or support@northadapt.com about anything else, or use our support page.
