What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent personal data.
- We don’t use cookies or cross-site tracking on this website. See our cookie policy.
- We don’t make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Who we share data with
- Service providers who process data for us under contract, such as Cloudflare (website hosting and visit statistics) and our email and support inbox providers. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, when we need their help.
- Authorities such as the police or a regulator, when the law requires us to.
- A buyer or investor, if North Adapt is sold or restructured. They would have to protect your data in the same way.
Some of our service providers store data outside the UK. When they do, we make sure it is protected by a UK adequacy decision or by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep data
- Support messages: 2 years after the conversation ends, so we can spot recurring problems.
- Job applications: 12 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Hosting logs: up to 30 days.
We may keep some records longer where the law requires it, for example for tax.
Keeping data safe
We protect personal data with encryption in transit, access limited to staff who need it, and regular review of our providers’ security. If a breach affects you and puts your rights at high risk, we will tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. To use any of these rights, email privacy@northadapt.com. We will reply within one month, and it is free.
Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact us first at privacy@northadapt.com and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
